Terrell, TX - One Killed, One Hurt in 18-Wheeler Crash at US-80 & CR 309

The crash occurred at the intersection of Loop 1604 and US-90 that afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. Local reports indicated that 20 Scobee Middle School students were traveling on a Southwest Independent School District school bus traveling through the intersection. 

The bus was hit by an oncoming semi-truck. The impact caused the bus to spin and sustain significant front-end damage. Six students and the bus driver were transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

The truck driver reportedly had run a red light leading up to the collision. No charges have been filed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
