The deadly crash took place on Loop 335 near E. County Road 58 at around 9:50 p.m. It was reported that a semi-truck was traveling southbound as an SUV was traveling north on Loop 335. The two vehicles collided head-on at the scene.
The 18-wheeler was hauling tires and caught fire in the impact before becoming completely engulfed in flames. The trucker was able to exit the rig without injury. The driver of the SUV suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area was completely closed while emergency responders were present. No additional information on the deadly crash has been provided at this time.
