Head-On Crashes in Texas
Serious injuries are more likely to result in certain types of collisions. You have a high risk of suffering severe injuries if you are involved in a head-on accident. Only about 2 percent of reported collisions annually involve head-on impacts. However, head-on collisions account for over 10 percent of highway fatalities even though they are not frequently engaged in crashes. Over 3,600 people are killed and many more are hurt every year in head-on crashes across the United States. Serious car accidents are prevalent in Texas, and the state unfortunately has a high rate of semi-truck crashes. These types of collisions are more likely to result in life-threatening injuries. The sheer size of a commercial truck means they can cause devastating damages in the event of a crash, and those traveling in passenger cars are more likely to suffer the brunt of these impacts.
