Nacogdoches County, TX – US-259 Crash Claims 1 Person’s Life

Nacogdoches County, TX (February 23, 2020) – A pedestrian accident on Friday sadly claimed one victim’s life.

At approximately 11 a.m., on February 21, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 259. Reports indicate that a driver was traveling down the road when their vehicle became disabled for unknown reasons. The driver pulled their vehicle into the shoulder of the road. As they began exiting their vehicle, they were struck by a semi-truck.

The victim, who was later identified as 23-year-old Ethan Smith, suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was immediately declared deceased.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.
