At around 3:30 p.m., on January 29th, the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office and emergency crews were called to the site of an explosion at the Wendl and Daniel H 1 H Well located off County Road 127.
Reports from Chesapeake Energy indicate that an oil well explosion occurred, claiming the life of one victim’s life immediately. Three other workers were critically injured in the incident. All three victims were transported via helicopter to hospitals in Houston and Austin for treatment.
At this time, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and representatives from Chesapeake Energy are conducting investigations into the incident.
