Wichita Falls, TX (September 2, 2023) - A bicycle rider was killed after being struck by an oncoming semi-truck on an interstate in Wichita Falls on Sunday, August 27.
The deadly accident was reported on Interstate 44 near the crossing of 3rd Street early that morning. The 31-year-old man was riding the bike traveling northbound. He was reportedly hit from behind by an oncoming truck.
The victim suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The truck driver submitted a toxicology test; the results are currently pending. No additional information has been provided at this time.
The identities of the involved parties have been withheld.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
