Accidents Involving Walmart 18-Wheeler Trucks

Have you been injured in an accident caused by a Walmart truck driver in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

It's important to understand that accidents involving 18-wheeler trucks are subject to entirely different rules than normal passenger car accidents. Semi trucks are subject to additional federal rules instituted by the Federal motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and Wal-Mart trucks are no exception. Additionally, the companies who insure these trucks will stop at nothing to deflect liability and limit the value of your potential injury claim.

If you've suffered an injury after a collision with a Walmart semi truck, you need to understand that in order to have any real chance at recovering the money you deserve for your damages, you are going to need help. While most people think of lawyers as expensive, our Dallas-Fort Worth attorneys actually handle these type of claims for no up-front cost. If we don't win your case, you literally pay us nothing! To discuss your case with our attorneys, call us 24 hours a day at (214) 651-6100 or fill out the contact form found on this page.

Hit by a Walmart-Owned Truck?

Walmart truck accident facts and statistics.

According to the FMCSA's records, Wal-Mart Transportation LLC has a fleet of 6,400 trucks with 7,705 registered drivers. In 2014 alone, these trucks traveled over 678 million miles in the US.

During the 24 months prior August 3rd, 2015, Walmart reported a total of 377 truck accidents and at least 121 of those resulted in a minimum of one injury. Ten others resulted in at least one fatality.

Notable Walmart truck accidents.

One highly publicized accident involving a Wal-Mart truck occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike in June of 2014. The crash left comedian Jimmy Mack dead and Tracy Morgan seriously injured. Since that time, the family of Jimmy Mack settled their wrongful death claim against Wal-Mart, as did Tracy Morgan, but it wasn't without a struggle. Criminal charges are currently pending in New Jersey state court against the driver of the truck.

The widow of a victim who was killed in Florida in June of 2014 has filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming that both Walmart and Swift Transportation are liable for the death of her husband. The 72-year-old man was driving his pickup truck on a Sunday morning to get breakfast when a semi truck that was traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lane and struck his car head-on. The driver of the semi was traveling 17 miles over the posted speed limit on a wet road and had insufficient tread on one of the tires. Walmart owned the trailed while Swift Transportation works with Walmart.
