Tyler, TX (August 21, 2023) - There were reported injuries after a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the Tyler area on Thursday evening, August 17.
The accident was reported on US-271 near Loop 323 at around 5 p.m. A semi-truck reportedly collided with a small pickup truck near the scene. The vehicles knocked out a nearby signal box. This caused the immediate area to lose electricity.
At least one person involved suffered injuries. HAZMAT teams were called to the scene to assist with a spill coming from the commercial vehicle. At this time, no additional information has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress. More information will become available as it continues.
