Skellytown, TX (October 16, 2023) - A woman was killed following a two-vehicle collision outside of Skellytown on Saturday afternoon, October 14.
The deadly accident was reported on TX-151 in Carson County at around 1:05 p.m. Local sources revealed that a 2020 Kenworth truck was towing a semi-trailer and was traveling westbound on the highway. A 51-year-old Lefors woman was headed east in a 2012 Kia Soul.
The driver of the Kenworth reportedly tried to avoid the impact by steering onto the north shoulder, but the two vehicles collided. The front of the Kia hit the back dual wheels of the commercial truck.
The woman suffered deadly injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is in progress.
