Shamrock, TX - GMC Driver Killed in Head-On Semi Crash on US-83

Shamrock, TX (September 16, 2023) - A man was killed following a head-on crash involving an 18-wheeler outside of Shamrock on Thursday, September 14. 

The deadly accident was reported on US-83 early that morning at around 6:45 a.m. A GMC passenger vehicle was traveling through a construction site on US-83 when it collided head-on with an oncoming tractor-trailer. The 86-year-old man driving the GMC suffered fatal injuries in the crash. 

No other injuries have been reported at this time. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present, and the roadway was later reopened to outside traffic after tow trucks were able to remove the resulting debris. 

No additional information on the crash has been provided. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld. 

An ongoing investigation into the fatal crash is in progress, and more information will be provided as it progresses.
