In Texas, traffic accidents accounted for 24 percent of all fatalities reported that year. In fact, auto accidents have been the leading cause of death for people between the ages of one and 44 since 2000. In the United States, there are hundreds of thousands of trucking accidents reported each year, and a significant number of these accidents end in fatal casualties. A large truck can cause complete devastation in the event of a crash, and those responsible need to be held accountable. Injured parties should not be left to pay for damages when they are not at fault. When someone dies as a result of negligence, indifference, misconduct, or misbehavior, it is legally referred to as wrongful death. Negligence is the failure to take the same level of caution that a reasonable person would in a similar situation. The road is arguably the clearest illustration of this duty of care. All drivers have a responsibility to exercise reasonable caution to prevent causing devastating trucking accidents. Unfortunately, wrongful deaths happen more often than you may think. Negligence, carelessness, and deliberate disregard for the safety of others can result in fatal semi-truck crashes in a matter of seconds. Even while wrongful death law involves much more than just numbers, analyzing the facts can help you understand who is responsible for a deadly crash. If you just lost a loved one in a tractor-trailer accident, you need to make sure your legal rights are protected by a trained legal team.
