Deadly Trucking Accidents in Texas

Orange, TX - Local Man Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck on I-10The weight of large commercial trucks is frequently 20 to 30 times more than that of a regular passenger car. This size disparity means collisions are likely to be more devastating. Those who are unfortunate enough to be involved in a collision with one of these massive vehicles could suffer life-changing injuries. Texas has a higher-than-average rate of fatal trucking accidents, and with the assistance of a knowledgeable attorney, families may be able to obtain compensation. Any losses or damages incurred as a result of a fatal semi-truck accident can potentially be recovered. Wrongful death claims allow the surviving family members of a deceased party to recover these and other financial expenses. You need to consider pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit to get compensation. The three primary types of damages you could receive in a wrongful death claim are punitive or exemplary damages, non-economic compensatory damages, and economic compensatory damages. You should always speak with a lawyer if you want to learn the real value of your case. Understanding damages can be difficult. Economic losses frequently involve financial losses like medical expenses, burial expenses, lost future earning potential, and more. The psychological and emotional effects of coping with a loved one's wrongful death, such as loss of consortium, companionship, support, services, society, and comfort, result in non-economic losses. Punitive damages are not as common and are intended to punish the at-fault party in order to prevent similar behavior in the future. Tens of thousands are killed each year in trucking accidents, and statistics show that these types of crashes are more likely to result in fatal injuries.
