You can never completely avoid sharing the road with a large commercial vehicle, especially when you are driving on a Texas highway. Large trucks are commonplace in the state, and it is common to see tractor-trailers haul cargo across the Lone Star State. When a commercial rig collides with a passenger car, the occupants of the smaller vehicle are more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries. A fully equipped semi-truck can weigh 20 to 30 times more than a personal vehicle, and there were more than 19,000 trucking accidents reported in Texas in 2021. These accidents resulted in 685 fatalities and 3,820 injuries. An injury claim involving a semi-truck will almost always be more complex than a typical auto accident. These accidents are simply more likely to result in life-changing injuries due to the nature of a tractor-trailer. For this reason, trucking companies typically carry extensive insurance policies. This means that your case may have to go to court in order for you to get the full value of the compensation you need for recovery. In order to have a successful outcome in your case, you need to be able to collect extensive evidence. There are strict rules in place for professional truck drivers. These regulations are in place due to the devastation that can be caused when a trucker behaves recklessly on the road. You need to be able to properly investigate your case in order to determine who or what contributed to your injuries. These types of in-depth investigations often require the support of a trained lawyer because of the resources needed. Rasansky Law Firm can help you and your loved ones recover after a serious semi-truck accident.
