Houston, TX - One Injured after Semi-Truck Crashes on Eastex Fwy

Houston, TX (September 11, 2023) - One person was hospitalized after an 18-wheeler crashed on a Houston Highway on Saturday, September 9. 

The accident took place on Eastex Freeway near Lauder Road early that morning. It was reported that a semi-truck collided with a Toyota Camry, and the impact caused the tandem trailer of the 18-wheeler to hang over the side of US-59. 

The driver of the Toyota was transported to a hospital in Kingwood for treatment of sustained injuries. Local sources indicated that water was on the road and may have been a factor in the collision. 

The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. It was later reopened to outside traffic. 

No further information on the crash has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials. More information will be provided as it continues.
