The accident was reported on US-59 at around 11:40 a.m. as a 2014 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was heading southbound on the highway. The driver of a 2001 Cadillac failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the path of the vehicle, striking the car on the left side. 

The 83-year-old Livingston woman driving the Cadillac was transported to Memorial Hermann for treatment of sustained injuries. Her passenger, a Livingston man, was taken by ambulance to HCA-Conroe. 

The 47-year-old Houston man operating the rig was unharmed. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
