Texas 18-Wheeler Crashes
More than 15 million large commercial trucks operate in the United States, and 18-wheelers and other transportation vehicles routinely clog Texas highways. These enormous vehicles are crucial to the American transportation network and act as a cross-country commercial hub in the Lone Star State. A total of 4,014 deadly semi-truck incidents occurred nationwide in 2020, an almost 28% increase from 2009. Texas has put in place rules to guarantee the security of its highways, and there are particular requirements for trucking companies due to the size and weight of these massive vehicles. Truck drivers are required to successfully complete specialized safety training and follow stringent traffic laws while operating a commercial rig. Unfortunately, shortcuts are used by both businesses and truckers to increase profits, even at the expense of endangering the lives of other drivers .Commercial drivers occasionally operate a huge rig when fatigued because they must meet rigorous deadlines after their allotted working hours. When a truck driver violates the traffic laws that other drivers are expected to follow or when the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations are ignored, a tractor-trailer accident can happen, endangering the lives of innocent bystanders.
