Tanker Truck Accidents in Texas
Tanker trucks carry liquid or gas cargo, and these vehicles are involved in a substantial number of collisions reported each year across the country. The most recent numbers from 2017 show that tanker trucks were involved in nearly 3,505 injury crashes and 372 fatal collisions across the United States, according to data from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). These figures represent, respectively, 6.2 percent and 8 percent of all fatal and injury trucking accidents that year.Tanker truck accidents should only ever be handled by an experienced truck accident law firm simply due to the fact that these accidents can be extremely dangerous. Even though many personal injury law firms claim to handle truck claims, very few actually have a history of doing so successfully. Tanker truck crashes can result in fatalities and severe injuries, and these vehicles are used to transport dangerous, highly flammable liquid that can catch fire and explode in the event of a collision. This means that many victims sustain serious burns and smoke inhalation injuries. Tanker truck accident injuries can be very expensive to cure and result in long-term pain and suffering. Victims of tanker truck accidents may have a difficult and costly recovery. Some are even unable to work for weeks or months due to broken limbs. More serious injuries can result in a lifetime of medical expenses, physical therapy, and disability, such as paralysis or traumatic brain injury. The victim’s life, as well as the lives of their spouse, kids, and other loved ones, may be radically altered by the tanker truck accident. When you or a loved one is severely hurt in a tanker truck accident, your life could never be the same.
