The commercial truck was hit by a train headed northeast. The truck driver, 48-year-old Rene Almenares-Durand of Dodge City, KS, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to render aid to the involved parties. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present.
