Bates collided with a 2024 Kenworth truck tractor towing a 2020 Hyundai. The tractor was reportedly backing out unsafely into the eastbound lanes leading to the accident. Bates sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the truck, 68-year-old Paige Conway Amado of Dallas, was not hurt in the collision. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
