The Most Dangerous Roads In Texas For Teen Drivers

The Texas Department of Transportation and Allstate Insurance have released a list of the most dangerous roads in Texas for teen drivers. The list is based on traffic accident statistics for Texas from 2006 to 2010 involving drivers between the ages of 15 and 19.
By far the most dangerous stretch of road in Texas is Interstate 45 in Harris County, which saw over 3,000 teen driver accidents over the past five years. Interstate 10 and Interstate 35 also appeared in the study’s top 15 chart multiple times in multiple counties.
What can Texas parents and teens do to prevent teen driver car accidents? Safety advocates urge teens to buckle up and avoid speeding – two major causes of serious injury and death in teen traffic accidents. Parents can help by setting a good example for their children, talking with their children about important topics such as drinking and driving, and setting curfews for their kids.
