Olton, TX – Four-Vehicle Accident on US-70 Leaves Two Injured

Olton, TX (July 24, 2020) – A major motor vehicle accident reported on Wednesday left two people seriously injured in Olton. On July 22, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on US Highway 70.

Reports provided by authorities show that a pickup truck was hauling a horse trailer on US Highway 70 when the vehicle crashed into the rear-end of a second pickup truck at the intersection with Cemetery Road. The impact of the collision sent the pickup truck out into the intersection where it was struck by a chemical truck. The vehicles then collided with a fourth vehicle. Several vehicles involved in the crash sustained extensive damages. One person was critically injured in the accident. The victim was airlifted from the scene to a hospital in Lubbock. A second victim suffered serious injuries and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
