Mesquite, TX – One Driver Killed in Truck Accident on I-30

Mesquite, TX (September 2, 2020) – A collision reported in the Mesquite area on Tuesday morning claimed the life of one driver. At approximately 5 a.m., on September 1, the Mesquite Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 30.

Reports provided by authorities indicate that a crash involving a semi-truck and a car took place on Interstate 30 near the Interstate 635 interchange, just east of Gus Thomason.

The car became pinned underneath the semi-truck trailer. Firefighters worked aggressively to remove the vehicle from under the back of the box trailer.

The driver of the car was fatally injured in the accident. The victim was extricated and pronounced dead at the scene. No other party involved in the crash sustained injuries.

Crews secured the eastbound lanes of the highway and began investigating to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
