Houston, TX – One Killed in Crash on Southwest Freeway

Houston, TX (July 21, 2020) – An auto accident early Tuesday morning claimed one victim’s life in the Houston area. On July 22, authorities were called to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on the Southwest Freeway.

Reports from officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety show that at approximately 3:30 a.m., a collision involving two vehicles occurred on the southbound side of Southwest Freeway near Newcastle, just before 610 Loop. The collision resulted in expansive delays through the area. All southbound lanes of the freeway were blocked by the collision. One person involved in this crash sustained fatal injuries and was immediately declared deceased at the scene. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
