Novice Drivers Can Be Deadly

Most people know that young, inexperienced drivers can cause traffic accidents and incidents. However, a Houston car accident last week in the Galleria area reminds us that experienced drivers in new cars can also be dangerous.
According to Houston news reports, a man left a hip, Uptown Park nightclub at around two in the morning on February 6 and got into his Lamborghini Aventador – a $350,000 sports car that he had purchased just a week before. The driver struck two parked cars soon after leaving the parking lot and then struck two pedestrians with his vehicle. When police arrived at the scene of the Houston car accident, he told them that he simply wasn’t yet familiar with how to drive his new car. Authorities determined that the man wasn’t driving under the influence of alcohol – he was simply a novice sports car driver.
This is an important lesson for everyone on the road – not just those who get behind the wheels of six-figure luxury sports cars. Just because you know how to drive one type of car, you may not be able to drive all cars. For example, driving a large pickup truck is very different from driving a sports car, which is very different than towing a trailer.
Before you get behind the wheel of an unfamiliar vehicle, be sure to take the time to learn how to control the car safely!
