Aransas Pass, TX (July 25, 2020) – An accident reported on Friday afternoon claimed one man’s life in Aransas Pass. At approximately 2:30 p.m., on July 24, the police and EMS responded to the site of a crash on West Goodnight Avenue.
Reports provided by authorities show that 49-year-old Christopher Borden was walking down West Goodnight Avenue while pushing his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection with Commercial Street after an eastbound Chevrolet truck veered off the road and drove up onto the sidewalk. Borden sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was immediately declared deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet, 31-year-old Heather Dean, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the crash are ongoing.
