The deadly accident was reported on Texaco Road as a 50-year-old Longview woman was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima. The woman was hit by a southbound 2014 Freightliner semi-truck driven by a Pensacola man traveling on Highway 42.
She suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the semi was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Kilgore for treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
