The deadly accident occurred on US-59 near Farm to Market Road 2208 at around 9 a.m. A 25-year-old Jefferson woman was traveling westbound in a 2015 Dodge Journey as a 58-year-old Douglassville man was traveling north in a 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The Dodge collided with another 18-wheeler driven by a 61-year-old Pittsburgh man. The impact caused the semi to overturn and slide until it hit the other commercial truck. The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene, and another passenger was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A 5-year-old passenger in the Dodge and the two truck drivers were also injured. No updates on the crash have been provided.
