Timpson, TX - US-59 Closed After 18-Wheeler Accident with Injuries

Timpson, TX (July 1, 2023) - On Friday, June 30, an 18-wheeler crash resulted in the closure of a highway in the Timpson area. 

The accident was reported on US-59 NB near US-84 early that morning. An 18-wheeler was traveling on the highway when it was involved in a crash and overturned. The highway was closed while emergency responders were present, and HazMat was at the scene to clear the roadway. 

At this time, the severity and number of resulting injuries have not been determined. Reports from 2:55 p.m. stated that two-way traffic on the highway had been reopened. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
