Semi-Truck Accidents in Texas
Every year, more than 500,000 truck-related collisions occur in the United States. These crashes result in over 5,000 fatalities and hundreds of thousands of injuries. The rate of deadly semi-truck accidents in Texas is startlingly high, and the state’s truck death rate is far higher than the national average. Statistics show that 10 percent or more of the nation’s annual deadly semi-truck collisions happen in Texas. Sharing the road with a massive semi-truck can be anxiety-inducing for anyone. This is because it is well-known how devastating these massive vehicles can be in the event of a collision. Unfortunately, those traveling in smaller passenger cars usually suffer the most in the aftermath of a trucking accident. If you have been involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler or a commercial rig, it is likely that you sustained significant injuries and other damages. You need to be prepared to take the necessary action to protect your rights and ensure that you are able to get the full and fair compensation you are owed. Personal injury claims involving an 18-wheeler are often much more complicated than a typical case. That is because there are several distinct parties that could be involved, from the operator of the truck, the company that employs the driver, and even a third-party parts manufacturer. Determining what contributed to the crash on your own can be difficult. There are also state and federal regulations that are in place governing these vehicles and the companies that utilize them, and you need an attorney who is well-versed in these laws.
