Tatum, TX - Two Hospitalized After 18-wheeler Crash on Johnson St

Tatum, TX (March 5, 2024) - Two people were injured after a semi-truck crashed into a local restaurant in Tatum on Monday, March 4. The crash was reported that afternoon at around 4:30 p.m. at T’s Cafe and Catering on Johnson Street. An 18-wheeler reportedly failed to yield at an intersection and collided with a sedan. 

The truck veered and ultimately crashed into the restaurant. No one was inside the business at the time of the incident, and emergency crews were dispatched to render aid to the involved parties.  

The driver of the sedan was transported to a Longview hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. The truck driver was seriously hurt and flown to UT Health Tyler for treatment. The involved vehicles had to be towed away from the scene. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
