The accident was reported on TX-99 near Boudreaux Road at around 4 a.m. Local sources indicate that a cement pump truck collided with another truck on the highway, causing the pump truck to overturn in the median.
The driver was extricated by responding emergency units before being transported to a local hospital. The other driver was also injured and hospitalized for treatment. A third 18-wheeler was also involved, but the operator was not injured.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Trucking Accidents in Texas
You are likely to see trucks on the state’s highways because there are more than 15 million heavy trucks in the United States. The American transportation sector cannot function without these large rigs. In 2020, there were 4,014 fatal semi-truck accidents reported nationwide. When compared to 2009, the number of fatalities involving semi-trucks increased by 28%, and the number of truck occupant fatalities increased by 35%. However, in contrast to 2019, there were 110 fewer trucking fatalities in 2020.
You need to know your case is in the best hands possible if you were involved in a crash with a semi-truck. Accidents involving commercial trucks and tractor-trailers can be far more serious and complex than typical auto accidents. Because of this, only a trucking attorney with years of expertise and a track record of success in instances involving commercial vehicle injuries should take on these cases.
You need to hire a lawyer if you or a loved one is hurt in a tractor-trailer accident. Having a lawyer by your side as soon as possible will help to ensure your case is handled in the most professional manner. Truck drivers are usually insured in the millions, and more than one party can be held vicariously liable for a driver’s negligence. It can be challenging to determine all the many insurance lines in trucking accidents because the vehicle and trailer are frequently insured by separate firms, with either one or both potentially at fault.
