San Marcos, TX - Deadly Crash Closes All Lanes at I-35 & Yarrington Rd

San Marcos, TX (April 26, 2024) - Early on Friday, April 26, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a fatal auto accident in the San Marcos area. The deadly crash occurred on Interstate 35 SB near Yarringon Road that morning around 4:47 a.m. All lanes were closed near the scene, and traffic was diverted to Yarrington while emergency responders were present. 

The circumstances leading to the accident have not yet been determined. At least one person involved sustained fatal injuries, but it is currently unknown how many people were involved in the accident. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked to clear the scene. Tow trucks were needed to remove the resulting wreckage and other debris. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
