Rusk, TX - Minnesota Man Dies in Semi-truck Crash on US-69

Rusk, TX (March 29, 2024) - A Minnesota man was killed following a crash involving a commercial truck in the Rusk area on Monday, March 25. The deadly accident was reported on US-69 that afternoon. Local reports revealed that the roads were wet as an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. 

The trucker reportedly lost control, causing a nearby 2023 RAM Van to veer west off the roadway, where it hit a tree. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide aid at the scene. The driver of the van sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as 44-year-old Nicholas Schintgen of Lino Lakes, MN. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
