The identities of the involved parties have been withheld.
The driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

Semi-Truck Crashes in Texas
Tens of thousands of trucking accidents were estimated to have occurred worldwide over the past few years. Given that trucks are used more frequently in those places, their prevalence tends to be higher in areas with more sophisticated infrastructure. In 2018, there were more deadly truck collisions in the United States than in any year between 2009 and 2019. There were roughly 4,164 trucking fatalities in that year. Additionally, 2019 had 4,119 large truck fatalities in the US during the same time period, which was the highest number on record.
Accidents involving 18-wheelers and other large trucks and commercial vehicles are known to be fatal. Although those riding in these rigs also run the risk of suffering serious injuries, the risk of serious injury is much higher for the drivers and passengers of smaller cars. For those hurt in truck accidents, the worst-case scenario is that they won’t make it out alive.
Truck collision victims may suffer serious, life-altering injuries. Even if the truck driver and the trucking company may have contributed to the collision, their insurance companies will do everything in their power to keep from covering your losses and injuries. To determine if you are entitled to compensation, you should speak with a lawyer.
