Pleasonton, TX - Trucker Hurt in Deadly Accident at TX-97 & I-37

Pleasonton, TX (March 14, 2024) - A woman was killed and a truck driver hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Pleasonton area on Wednesday, March 13. That afternoon at around 3 p.m., the crash occurred at the TX-97 and Interstate 37 interchange. A passenger car and a commercial truck collided after a driver ran a red light at the intersection. 

The driver of the passenger vehicle, 58-year-old Lucinda McKennon Cochran of Canyon Lake, suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. The impact caused the semi-truck to head down an embankment where it entered the main lanes of the interstate. The truck driver was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
