Semi-Truck Crashes in Texas

Lindale, TX - Four Ejected in Crash with Semi-Truck on I-20More than 15 million heavy trucks are in the United States, and it is common to see these massive vehicles while traveling the highways throughout Texas. These vehicles play a key role in the American transportation system, and Texas is a crossroads of industry throughout the nation. A total of 4,014 fatal semi-truck crashes occurred in 2020. The Texas Department of Transportation reports that fatal collisions involving commercial vehicles occur almost daily in the state, and statistics show that 18-wheelers are involved in some of the most horrific accidents. Due to their size, semi-trucks and 18-wheelers frequently cause fatalities, severe injuries, and vast amounts of property damage.

Truck drivers and the companies that employ them are held to a higher standard. In the event of an accident, a massive rig, which may weigh up to 80,000 pounds when fully loaded, has the potential to cause significantly more severe bodily damage. When these entities are found to behave negligently, leading to an accident, injured parties may be able to obtain compensation in a personal injury claim.
