Liberty City, TX - One Killed in Fiery 18-Wheeler Crash on I-20

Liberty City, TX (March 8, 2024) - On Wednesday, March 6, one person was killed after a crash involving two commercial trucks in the Liberty City area. The deadly accident occurred on Interstate 20 near mile marker 583. Two 18-wheelers were traveling on the highway when one rear-ended the other. 

The driver of one of the trucks suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The impact caused one of the vehicles to catch fire. Emergency responders were on-site to render the necessary aid to the involved parties. 

All westbound lanes were temporarily closed while local authorities were present. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal trucking accident.
