A 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 19-year-old Lannie Cook of Sanger collided with the stationary vehicle. The impact caused Cook and her passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. Both suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was later identified as 22-year-old Miles Bartek of Gainesville. At this time, no additional information on the fatal accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
