El Paso, TX - Trucker Injured in Crash with DPS Patrol Unit on I-10

El Paso, TX (January 6, 2024) - On Friday, a highway was shut down in the El Paso area after a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck. Local reports indicated that the crash occurred on Interstate 10 near mile marker 17 at around 11:50 p.m. A semi-truck was traveling down the interstate when it collided with a DPS patrol unit. 

No trooper suffered injuries in the crash. The truck driver was treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. The highway was temporarily closed down while emergency responders were present, and tow trucks were needed to remove the resulting debris and reopen the roadway to outside traffic. No further information is currently available. Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
