El Paso, TX (April 18, 2024) - Late on Tuesday, April 16, a motorcyclist was killed after a crash involving a commercial truck in the El Paso area. The deadly accident was reported on Interstate 10 near Copia Street just before midnight. The rider was traveling behind a semi-truck when they collided with the vehicle.
The truck, which was hauling a 53-foot trailer, was reportedly slowing down due to another crash on the interstate. The rider, later identified as 26-year-old Henry John Wiedmeyer of Horizon, was unable to slow down and avoid hitting the trailer. Wiedmeyer suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
