We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
In Texas, fatal accidents can occur at any moment. Sadly, there were no days without a fatality on Texas roadways in 2011. Trucks are not involved in every collision, but because of the size difference between huge trucks and passenger cars, it is common for trucking accidents to result in fatal injuries. There were 2,339 heavy truck collisions that resulted in serious injuries in the state in 2010, and large trucks were involved in 15,676 collisions across Texas that year. When a spouse, father, or other member of the family passes away tragically in a crash, the decedent's family is left to deal with intense grief and often mounting expenses without enough money to cover them. This is particularly true if the deceased was the primary wage earner for the family and that person's salary was used to cover living expenses such as the mortgage, car loans, health insurance premiums, groceries, and tuition.Although a financial recovery may seem insignificant and of little consolation, the bills must still be paid even when your loved one is not there. This can add a great deal of stress to what is already the most trying moment of your life. Wrongful death cases provide a way for surviving family members to hold the at-fault party both legally and financially accountable for a deadly semi-truck accident. Driving can be incredibly dangerous, as is sharing the road with a large semi-truck. These vehicles can cause catastrophic injuries in the event of a crash, and unfortunately, thousands are killed each year in trucking accidents.
