Brenham, TX (April 13, 2024) - One person was killed and 13 others were injured after a felon crashed a stolen 18-wheeler into a building outside of Brenham on Friday, April 12. It was reported that 42-year-old Chappell Hill had reportedly been denied a commercial driver’s license the day before at the Texas Department of Safety building, and Hill reportedly stole a semi and crashed into the building.
It was later reported that Hill was attempting to back out to ram the building again before he was taken from the vehicle and taken into custody. This could have potentially caused the building to collapse, causing even more injuries and deaths. A total of 14 people inside the building at the time of the incident were injured. Eight of these victims were treated at the scene and released, and three others were flown to nearby hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. One of the victims was later pronounced dead at a medical facility. The identities of the victims have not been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of a full recovery.

Big trucks move billions of miles across Texas every year, and the state is vital to the nation's transportation network. If you or someone close to you is killed in a crash involving a large truck, you should partner with a trained lawyer to pursue a wrongful death case.
