Belton, TX - Deputy Injured in 18-wheeler Crash en Route to Training

Belton, TX (March 5, 2024) - On Tuesday, March 5, a sheriff’s deputy was injured in a trucking accident during a training in the Belton area. The victim was apparently on their way to a training session when they were involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler. The commercial truck hit their vehicle from behind. 

The deputy suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the circumstances leading to the crash have not been determined. The identity of the injured party has been withheld. 

Emergency responders were present to render aid to the injured party. The scene was closed for several hours until the resulting wreckage could be removed.  No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
