Austin, TX - Pedestrian Fatally Hit at Lamar Blvd & Longspur Blvd

Austin, TX (March 4, 2024) - Late on Saturday night, March 2, a pedestrian was killed following a traffic accident in the Austin area. The fatal accident occurred that evening at around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lamar Boulevard and Longspur Boulevard. A driver on the roadway reportedly hit a pedestrian at the scene. 

Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid. The victim was on foot when they were struck by the oncoming motorist. They suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. 

The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. It was later reopened to outside traffic. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal pedestrian accident is in the hands of local law enforcement officials, and more information will be provided as it continues.
