Austin, TX - 18-Wheeler Crash on I-35 at Braker Ln Causes Injuries

Austin, TX (January 5, 2024) - On Thursday, January 4, there were reported injuries after a crash involving an 18-wheeler and another vehicle in the Austin area. The accident took place at the 11900 block of Interstate 35 between Braker Lane and Tech Ridge Boulevard over Walnut Creek. When emergency crews arrived, both vehicles had caught fire. 

The sedan was trapped underneath the commercial vehicle, and the driver of the passenger car was extricated and taken to a local hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported in the collision. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present, and the area was later cleared and reopened to outside traffic. No additional information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
