Every day children are abused in national daycare centers across this United States and mom-and-pop daycare centers in our own backyards.
Today, as parents, we are relying on daycare centers more than ever before. We're dropping off our children almost immediately after they are born. And, we should be able to rely on daycare workers to provide the best care they can and to look after our children with diligence, care and provide a loving and compassionate environment.
We expect our childrens' daycare teachers and providers to be trained. But unfortunately, daycare abuse and neglect is becoming a national epidemic - a growing problem. We continue to hear horror stories and tragic consequences of children being hurt in our daycare centers. Accidents happen, but when teachers are careless or disregard the health and safety of our children, we have a duty, obligation and responsibility to act in the best interest of our children.
