Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene after being notified of a pedestrian-vehicle collision. It was later revealed that 63-year-old Timothy Steffens of Wildorado was headed eastbound in a 2007 Ford F-250 pickup truck when he hit the pedestrian. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased party was later identified as 34-year-old Anthony Autry of Atlanta, GA. No additional information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the pedestrian accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

The fatal crash was reported on Interstate 40 frontage road near Adkisson Road early that morning around 6 a.m. The victim was traveling on foot when they were hit by an oncoming pickup truck.
