Aledo, TX - Conductor Hurt in Train-Semi Collision at FM 5 & Annette Centerpoint Rd

Aledo, TX (December 19, 2023) - One person was hurt after a Union Pacific train crash collided with a semi-truck near Aledo on Sunday, December 17. The collision was reported at the intersection of Farm to Market 5 near Annette Centerpoint Road at around 9:30 a.m. A local report revealed that an 18-wheeler was hauling an oversized load when it got stuck trying to cross some railroad tracks. 

The semi-truck was hit by an oncoming Union Pacific train. The impact caused two of the train’s engines and 17 of the rail cars to derail. The conductor of the train was hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. A HAZMAT team was called to the scene to deal with the resulting oil spill. At this time, no additional information has been provided. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
