Deadly Trucker Accidents in Texas

Cisco, TX - Truck Driver Killed in Cow-Vehicle Crash at US-183 & CR 156Truck driving is a hazardous industry, and it should come as no surprise that many truckers suffer serious and even life-threatening injuries while on the job. The number of fatal truck driving injuries has only increased in recent years, and more than 500,000 large trucks are involved in traffic accidents in the United States each year. There were 756 truckers who were killed in the line of duty in 2012, and truck drivers had a nearly seven times greater fatality rate than other industries, according to statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) and Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII). When someone close to you loses their life in a deadly accident, it can seem almost impossible to handle. It can be even worse when the fatal incident is caused by another person’s negligent actions. You need to be sure that you do everything in your power to protect yourself if you or someone close to you is involved in a serious truck accident. You may not even be considering taking legal action at this time, but you need to move quickly in order to ensure that important evidence is preserved.
