Every year, there are around 500,000 collisions involving 18-wheelers across the United States. Statistics show that nearly 5,000 trucking accidents result in fatal injuries annually. There were 450,000 accidents involving 18-wheelers reported by local authorities in 2017, and 4,237 of these 450,000 collisions resulted in fatalities.18-wheeler crash lawsuits are usually more complicated than a typical car accident suit, so they can be harder to win. This is due to the fact that 18-wheeler drivers and the businesses that employ them are governed by both state and federal laws and rules that ordinary motorists are not. As a result, when pursuing an 18-wheeler accident claim, your attorney will need to consider Texas law and any applicable federal statutes. The commercial trucking industry in the United States is massive. Large transportation companies have teams of trained lawyers on their side, and their only job is to fight personal injury claims and divert blame from the business. They may even try to deny your claim altogether, blaming you in full for the accident in order to protect their bottom line. In other words, they want to give you the lowest payment possible. This is why your claim needs to be handled by a Texas truck accident lawyer with experience and resources.
